The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged on Tuesday (June 16, 2026) that the authorities have failed to probe the theft of more than ₹200 crore from donation boxes at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
“The amount stolen from the Ram Temple donation boxes exceeds ₹200 crore. More than 50 employees are reportedly involved. During the Kumbh, reports emerged of thefts ranging from ₹15 lakh to ₹20 lakh every day. So far, nine people have been arrested, and cash has been recovered from their homes. Despite this, no action has been taken against the main individuals responsible,” said AAP MP Sanjay Singh.

Mr. Singh alleged that the BJP’s silence on the theft of crores of rupees from donation boxes is an insult to devotees of Lord Ram.
“PM Modi, head of the ED Party, should explain why no action has been taken against corrupt people sitting in the Ram Temple Trust. This corrupt trust should be dissolved immediately, and responsibility should be handed over to honest individuals,” he said
Mr. Singh said that the “theft” of donations made in the name of Lord Ram, land scams, looting of donation boxes, and betrayal of devotees’ faith will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He said every citizen must understand how crores of rupees collected as donations in the name of Lord Ram were “siphoned off” through corruption and mismanagement.
