Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development Sharanprakash Rudrappa Patil said here on Saturday that establishing industry-integrated centres in educational institutions will help bridge the skill gap among graduates.
He was speaking after inaugurating the industry-integrated centres of Discover Dollar, MResult Technologies Pvt. Ltd., and Allcargo Group at the Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management.
The State government is actively working to restructure the curriculum to make students more industry-ready, he said.
He suggested that educational institutions like Sahyadri college establish International Language Laboratories, given the vast global opportunities available to students.
The Minister said that Karnataka has always maintained a progressive outlook by creating an ecosystem that encourages private institutions to establish professional colleges, making the State one of the most preferred destinations for medical, engineering, and professional education.
In his address, the founder and chairman of Allcargo Group, Shashi Kiran Shetty, said that educational institutions should focus on preparing future-ready leaders capable of adapting to rapid technological transformations.
Manjunath Bhandary, chairman of the college and MLC, said that Sahyadri college has proactively taken steps to bridge the gap between academia and industry by introducing industry-integrated learning initiatives and compulsory skill laboratories for students.
