Moere than 8,800 aspirants appeared for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 examinations held in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts on Sunday.
Officials said that of the 5,736 students, who were registered for the examinations, 5,551 students appeared for the examinations in Vellore district and 3,250 students wrote the examinations at six centres in Tiruvannamalai. Around 120 police personnel including 34 women constables were deployed at 15 centres in Vellore as part of security arrangements. Special bus services were arranged to ensure connectivity, and buses were stopped at all examination centres. Medical teams and firefighters have also been deployed
