The Pilikula Development Authority on Wednesday will start operation of two kiosks for booking tickets to enter different venues in the Dr. K Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama.
The operation will formally be launched by N.S. Boreraju, Minister for Minor Irrigation and Science and Technology, on Wednesday. The two kiosks have been given by Canara Bank.
Commissioner of the authority, Arun Kumar Shetty, said the two kiosks have been placed near the booking office at the entrance to the nisarghadhama.
Apart from booking tickets, the kiosks can be used to pay parking charges and charges for using cameras and video cameras in the nisargadhama. The payment can be made using UPI apps. At the time of booking, the mobile number is noted and the tickets will be sent to that. At the entrance to different venues, the QR code of the tickets will be scanned.
Dr. Shetty said the launch of the kiosks was a step by the authority in adopting technology to bring in paperless administration. In another 15 days, the authority will launch a facility by which people can book tickets online by accessing pilikula.karnataka.gov.in.
Apart from bringing transparency in the administration of the pilikula, the authority was adopting measures that are friendly to visitors, Dr. Shetty said.
On an average, around 1,000 people visit pilikula during the weekdays and around 2,000 visit during weekends, he said.
