With intense summer heat driving snakes into houses and other human habitations in search of cooler environments, Wayanad District Medical Officer (DMO) Rekha K.T. has urged the public to remain vigilant and seek immediate medical care in the event of a bite. People are advised to call the 108 ambulance service without delay during emergencies.
According to Dr. Rekha, government hospitals in the district equipped with emergency snakebite treatment facilities include District Hospital, Mananthavady; General Hospital, Kalpetta; Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Sulthan Bathery; and Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Vythiri.
