Officials from the Yadgir Zilla Panchayat recently inspected work sites in Mundaragi and Ramsamudra villages in Yadgir taluk and Gursunagi village in Wadagera taluk to review the current physical status of the works provided to workers.
The team of the officers, headed by project director C.B. Devaramani, following the instructions of Chief Executive Officer Lavish Ordia, visited the work sites.
Mr. Devaramani briefly interacted with workers and advised them to make use of the opportunities during the 100 days of employment provided, and stop migrating to other places in search of jobs.
He also directed panchayat officials to provide employment to the job card holders as per the target fixed for each gram panchayat and ensure the creation of man-days accordingly.
The zilla panchayat will provide sufficient employment to rural households under MGNREGA. The payment will directly be credited to the workers’ bank accounts linked with their respective Aadhar cards. Therefore, each worker should have e-KYC linked to their job cards to get payment credited properly, he said.
The project director also directed the panchayat officials to provide proper facilities to the workers. “Drinking water, shelter, and a first aid box should be provided at the work sites,” he added.
He said that if there are community works already approved in the 2025-26 annual action plan, approval must be gotten, and work should be started according to the wage demand in gram panchayats.
Additional district Programme Coordinator Bannappa Baitapuli, District IEC coordinator Parashuram Jinakera, gram panchayat staff, and labourers were present.
