Extensive arrangements have been made across the central districts for the smooth conduct of the NEET 2026 re-test on Sunday.

In Pudukottai district, 3,242 candidates are scheduled to appear for the examination. District Collector M. Aruna reviewed the preparedness of the examination centres and said nine officers had been appointed to supervise the venues and monitor facilities.

Police personnel have been deployed at all centres, while the Electricity Department has ensured an uninterrupted power supply and emergency response teams to address electrical issues. Medical teams and ORS packets will be available at all centres to provide immediate assistance to candidates if required. Additional bus services have been arranged before and after the examination. Personnel from the Fire and Rescue Services department have taken precautionary measures at question paper custody centres, answer script collection centres and examination venues.

In Karur district, 1,733 candidates will appear for the exam at five centres. Five chief invigilators have been appointed to oversee the examination process.

A total of 44 police personnel have been deployed for security and for the safe transportation of examination materials. Executive magistrates have been assigned to monitor the movement of question papers and answer scripts. To facilitate candidates’ travel, 46 special buses have been arranged.

The district administration has deployed around 20 electricity department personnel to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. Four medical teams comprising 12 health officials, along with ambulances, will be stationed at the centres. District-level observers have been appointed for each venue. Fire and Rescue Services personnel, along with a fire tender, will remain on standby.

Special arrangements have been made for candidates with disabilities, including 10 wheelchairs and 10 assistants. Drinking water and toilet facilities have also been ensured at all examination centres.

In Nagapattinam district, Collector K. J. Praveen Kumar inspected the arrangements at Natarajan Dhamayanthi Higher Secondary School on Saturday. A total of 1,513 candidates, including 544 boys and 969 girls, will take the examination at five centres across the district.

To ensure smooth conduct of the test, the administration has deployed 10 supervisors, five observers and 128 hall invigilators. Authorities have also installed 93 CCTV cameras and arranged 29 mobile phone jammers to maintain examination security and prevent malpractice.
