While TVK candidates secured a magical victory in three of the five Assembly Constituencies in North Chennai, two DMK heavyweights, Udhayanidhi Stalin and P.K. Sekarbabu emerged victorious after trailing in the initial rounds of counting.
During the first round of counting, TVK candidates had established a lead in all the five Assembly constituencies in north Chennai. However, DMK started securing more votes in the later stages of counting in Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni and Harbour and managed to maintain the lead until the last round.
