Academics are anticipating pragmatic action by the new government for infusing vibrancy into State universities most of which have been without Vice-Chancellors (V-Cs) for years due to the impasse over formation of Search Committees for nominating V-C’s.
The Government-constituted Search Committees have been rendered dormant as the requirements specified by the UGC have not been met.
The University Grants Commission Regulations, 2018, warrants mandatory inclusion of the nominee of the UGC chairman in the Search Committee.
