Condolences poured in for the families of the deceased in the mishap that claimed eight lives in Kurnool district.

Governor of Andhra Pradesh S. Abdul Nazeer expressed anguish and profound grief over the accident. The Governor was briefed about the road accident in which a pick-up van with pilgrims from Karnataka collided with a cement tanker. The pilgrims were heading to Mantralayam for darshan.

The Governor instructed the district administration to provide better medical care to the injured persons and offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Soon after the incident, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav was informed about the treatment being provided to the injured and the shifting of patients from Yemmiganur to the Government General Hospital (GGH) at Kurnool. The Minister asked the officials to provide the injured with better treatment.

Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan asked officials to provided best possible treatment to the injured and to coordinate with the Karnataka State counterparts to extend all possible assistance and relief to the families of the victims.

Industries and Commerce Minister T. G. Bharath expressed shock over the death of the devotees who were on their way to Mantralayam; while Roads and Buildings Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy instructed officials to ensure better treatment for the injured.

Transport Minister M. Ramprasad Reddy urged the people to follow road safety measures while travelling long distances and to take proper precautions for a safe journey. Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy expressed shock over the death of women and children in the accident and asked officials to take steps to ensure such accidents do not occur in the future.
