Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday launched the ambitious healthcare and governance roadmap for Andhra Pradesh, announcing that the government would implement the ‘Sanjeevani’ healthcare project across the State from August 15 to provide every citizen access to an “AI Doctor” for medical consultation from home.
Addressing the Praja Vedika public meeting at Kandrika village of Yadamarri mandal in Chittoor district, Mr. Naidu said that healthcare remained one of the top priorities of the NDA government, asserting that technology-driven public welfare would not only strengthen but also redefine governance in the future.
“The Sanjeevani initiative will facilitate doorstep delivery of 74 types of medical tests and energise preventive healthcare at the grassroots level,” the Chief Minister observed.
“Even if one has wealth, power, and luxury, nothing is more important than health,” Mr. Naidu observed, highlighting that the government’s goal was to make world-class healthcare services accessible to ordinary people. “Artificial Intelligence will soon play a crucial role in primary healthcare delivery,” the Chief Minister said.
Lambasting the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for its divisive approach, Mr. Naidu said it was resorting to a drama for political gain.
‘Be wary of YSRCP’
Referring to controversies the YSRCP was associated with, including the “Kodi Kathi” and “Gulakarayi” incidents, the Chief Minister said the opposition party was attempting to create social tensions through misinformation propaganda.
Mr. Naidu said the people of the State should remain cautious about the YSRCP, which he referred to as “goddali party.” “There is no place for destructive politics in a democracy,” Mr. Naidu said.
The Chief Minister alleged that the previous YSRCP government had unleashed a regime of intimidation of families and encouraged a vile culture of political vendetta. “Now, the NDA government has brought back freedom and security for the people,” Mr. Naidu said.
Describing himself as a “public servant and not a ruler,” the Chief Minister reiterated that the NDA was committed to repaying the “debt owed to the poor” through continuous welfare and development initiatives.
“The coalition government has ensured protection of people’s lives and properties, and, at the same time, heralded economic growth,” Mr. Naidu said.
Krishna water for Tirumala
The Chief Minister said the irrigation network had been expanded in the Rayalaseema region. The Handri-Neeva waters had already been taken up to Chittoor district. An action plan was being prepared to take the Krishna river waters from Srisailam to Tirumala. “Dedicated timelines have already been fixed for 32 irrigation projects in the State,” Mr. Naidu said.
Referring to the industrial investments, he highlighted projects such as the Google data centre in Visakhapatnam and the defence manufacturing unit in Puttaparthi. “A major gold mining project will soon commence in Rayalaseema,” he added.
Suggesting that the El Niño effect could curtail rainfall this year, Mr. Naidu appealed to the people to accord top priority to rainwater conservation, stressing the need to protect nature and natural resources.
“Andhra Pradesh is steadily marching towards the vision of Swarna Andhra Pradesh-2047. The Telugu community will emerge as a global force in the coming decades,” he said.
