Joint Collector A. Rajendran announced that the State government has sanctioned ₹2.22 crore for Chittoor district to promote farm mechanisation through subsidies on agricultural machinery.
Addressing a district-level review meeting on the implementation of the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM) scheme for 2025-26 at the Collectorate here on Tuesday, the Joint Collector directed the officials of the Agriculture and Horticulture departments to organise extensive awareness programmes at the village level to sensitise farmers about the benefits of the subsidy initiative.
