A 14-year-old boy died after falling into a well while attempting to retrieve a football in Kannur on Friday morning (May 8).
The deceased was identified as T.P. Muhammad, a Class IX student of GHSS, Koyyam. The accident occurred around 8 a.m. when children were playing football. The ball accidentally fell into a nearby well, following which Muhammad climbed down into the well to retrieve it.
According to witnesses, the boy lost his grip midway and fell into the well. He reportedly sustained serious injuries in the fall. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he could not be saved.
