Votes polled in the nine Assembly constituencies of Kottayam district will be counted at five centres on Monday, with all arrangements completed for the process.

The strong rooms will be opened at around 7.30 a.m. in the presence of candidates or their authorised representatives, after which counting will begin at 8 a.m. Postal ballots will be taken up first, followed by the counting of votes recorded in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from 8.30 a.m. The first trends are expected to emerge by around 10 a.m. The final two rounds of EVM counting will be taken up only after the completion of postal ballot counting.
