KARIMNAGAR

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has said that attempts were being made to brand his son Bandi Sai Bageerath as a criminal.

“I have always respected the law and judiciary. We will honour and accept whatever decision the court delivers,” he said, while referring to the POCSO case registered against Mr. Bageerath at the Petbasheerabad police station.

Addressing the annual Hindu Ekta Yatra in Karimnagar on Tuesday evening, Mr. Sanjay said, “My son maintains that he has committed no wrong doing. Yet, I am not here to shield or blindly support anyone. Authorities are free to proceed strictly according to the law.”

“Today, an attack has been launched against my family. I will expose and dismantle the networks built on corruption and conspiracy,” Mr. Sanjay said, adding, “Those who targeted me, my family, and my workers will not be spared.”

Even when the then rulers filed 109 cases and sent me to jail, I never bowed in fear. My fight for Dharma continues relentlessly, he said.

Mr. Sanjay said, “I devoted my entire life and time to society. In this journey, I could not spend enough time with my own son. That responsibility is mine alone … I seek your forgiveness. My son maintains that he is innocent, and I have asked him to prove it through due process.”
