Ambedkar Porata Samithi president Soru Sambayya on Sunday urged the government to conduct cancer screening tests in all mandals of Vizianagaram as many patients continue to ignore the disease even after symptoms were identified.
The association organised a cancer screening test for patients in Bobbili in association with Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital of Visakhapatnam. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Soru said that in the absence of cancer hospitals in Vizianagaram, many patients in rural areas do not have access to screening facilities.
Senior doctor Swati said early detection of cancer symptoms and immediate treatment would ensure a healthy life for patients. In Association with Samithi, Pushpagiri Eye Hospital an eye camp was organised in Bobbili and spectacles were distributed to needy patients .
