With the two-year-old Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founded by actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay leading in more than 100 seats, according to the early trends as of 1 p.m. on the day of counting on Mondau (May 4, 2026), many of its frontline office-bearers have put up strong performances so far.
Mr. Vijay, who contested from two seats – Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchi East – is leading in both seats by a comfortable margin. The party’s frontline leaders, including general secretary N. Anand (T. Nagar), chief coordinator of the high-level committee K.A. Sengottaiyan (Gobichettipalayam), general secretary - election campaign management Aadhav Arjuna (Villivakkam), general secretary - policy and propaganda K.G. Arunraaj (Thiruchengode), and treasurer P. Venakataraman (Mylapore), have taken a comfortable lead.
