In a significant move, the State government has revoked long-standing deputations of teaching staff of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) working at the head office and other administrative wings.
Acting on the directions of Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, TGSWREIS Secretary (FAC) Sharada on Thursday issued orders repatriating about 16 teachers from various cadres to their parent institutions. Teachers’ unions and employee associations welcomed the decision.
The move follows concerns over an acute shortage of teaching staff in Gurukul institutions, with students reportedly facing difficulties due to insufficient classroom instruction. At the same time, several teachers had continued on deputation at the head office for extended periods, drawing criticism from unions and sections of the teaching community.
After receiving multiple representations, the Minister directed officials to ensure that teachers return to academic institutions where their services are most needed.
