Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra conducted an inspection of railway establishments and the NMDC railway siding at Bacheli on Tuesday.
The visit focused on reviewing station infrastructure, sidings, and mining areas, alongside a window trailing inspection to assess the condition of tracks, curves, bridges, and crossings.
Accompanied by branch officers, the DRM reviewed ongoing developmental works on the Bacheli–Kirandul line. Key priorities included enhancing passenger amenities, safety measures, and the augmentation of siding infrastructure. Mr. Bohra also evaluated the wagon discharge silo system at NMDC, a project designed to reduce loading time and boost operational efficiency.
In a meeting with senior NMDC officials, the DRM discussed strategies to scale up freight loading operations, with focus on increasing rake loading capacity and streamlining traffic movement. He also inspected the weighbridge facilities at the Bacheli station.
