The Andhra Pradesh State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has alleged that the Telugu Desam Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has failed to fulfil major election promises and has pursued policies detrimental to public welfare during its first two years in office.

Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada on Sunday (June 7, 2026), CPI(M) State secretary V. Srinivasa Rao and others said that despite completing two years in power on June 8, the coalition government had not implemented several key assurances made under the “Super Six” programme.

They cited the non-implementation of monthly financial assistance for women, unemployment allowance, pensions for BCs, SCs, STs and minorities above 50 years of age, welfare measures for tenant farmers, and housing-related promises.

They also claimed that schemes such as the Deepam free LPG programme, farmer assistance initiatives, job recruitment drives and free bus travel for women have been implemented only partially.

According to the CPI(M) leaders, lakhs of pension applicants are still awaiting approval, while several welfare commitments remain unfulfilled.

Criticising the government’s economic policies, CPI(M) leaders accused it of encouraging privatisation and favouring corporate interests through large-scale land allotments and the privatization of public services. They alleged that farmers continue to face severe distress due to the absence of remunerative prices for crops, delays in compensation payments and the lack of effective crop insurance support.

The party leaders further alleged that major infrastructure projects, including irrigation schemes and the development of Amaravati, have progressed slowly. It also expressed concern over pending fee reimbursement dues, delays in payments to hospitals under government health schemes, and the privatization of medical education and public transport services.

The CPM leaders also accused the coalition government of suppressing democratic protests and promoting communal politics. It warned that increasing privatisation, social inequality and religious polarization could adversely affect Andhra Pradesh’s future and called for greater focus on welfare, employment and secular governance.
