A bomb threat to the Collectorate turned out to be a hoax after the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and police personnel conducted a thorough sweep of the premises on Tuesday (April 28, 2026).
The Collectorate, located on Perundurai Road, houses several government offices in its seven-storeyed old and new buildings and usually witnesses heavy public movement, particularly on Mondays during grievances redress meetings.
