The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) student wing, Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP), on Wednesday staged a protest outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) office against the alleged National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) paper leak, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Protesters raised slogans accusing the BJP of jeopardising students’ futures through repeated paper leaks.
ASAP alleged that the entire mafia operated under BJP protection. Since the Modi government came to power, the NEET paper had leaked four times. “PM Narendra Modi should immediately resign taking responsibility for playing with students’ futures through these paper leaks,” ASAP said in a statement.
AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, in a post on X, termed the reported death by suicide of a 17-year-old student in Goa following the cancellation of the NEET exam “heartbreaking”. He asked who would be held accountable for the incident.
After meeting the family, Mr. Kejriwal said the student had been under “immense stress”. He urged students not to take extreme steps and said many were facing severe stress and anxiety.
