The NIE Incubation Centre in Mysuru has partnered with Idea Lab to offer internship opportunities to pre-university (PU) students from June 1 to 12 at its premises in the City.

A statement here said the internship, which is open to students from science background only, offers them an opportunity to explore and develop their interests in science, technology, engineering and entrepreneurship. 

The initiative is aimed at providing early exposure to real world innovation ecosystems and bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application.

The internship programme, according to the statement, seeks to provide PU students hands-on experience in areas such as Product Design and Prototyping, Innovation and Problem Solving, Entrepreneurial Thinking, Basic Engineering concepts and mentoring by industry experts and faculty.

“Students are guided by mentors from the NIE faculty and professionals from industry, working on live projects and problem statements that spark creativity and critical thinking. The Idea Lab brings in modern tools and facilities such as 3D printers, CNC machines, IoT kits, and electronics workbenches to support this learning journey.

Overall, this programme empowers young minds to innovate, collaborate, and build foundational skills that will be valuable in their higher education and future careers”.

The internship is free of cost, but eligibility is restricted to science background students, who have cleared 12th or PU with a minimum of 60 per cent. The students should have appeared in the recent CET or COMED-K exams.
