The Tiruvottiyur police arrested a youth for the murder of a daily wage labourer on Monday night.
The police said Srinivasan of Ondikuppam worked as a false ceiling installer for an interior contractor. Srinivasan and his friend were consuming liquor at Ondikuppam beach late on Monday. At the time, Akash of nearby Mallikapuram, who was also inebriated, came to the beach and started shouting and dancing to loud music.
