Graduation ceremonies

Students should acquire skills that cannot be easily replaced by Artificial Intelligence, said P. Prasad, director, Head of Campus Relations, HCL Tech, Chennai, while delivering the convocation at the SRM Tiruchi Arts and Science College. Advising students to develop unique abilities and professional competencies to secure a stable future, he also urged them to keep themselves abreast of current developments and make effective use of available opportunities. Continuous learning, innovation and professional excellence are essential to shape a successful future, he told the students.

At the convocation ceremony of Jamal Mohamed College of Teacher Education, special invitee P.M.A. Amanullah, CEO, Infocom Consultants, Singapore, underlined the importance of teachers and their n students’ lives and making them responsible citizens.

Pre-incubation centre set up

A pre-incubation centre to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture among young innovators was established at Indra Ganesan of College of Engineering in Tiruchi recently. In her keynote address, C. Amelia Betsy, Deputy Director, MSME–India, encouraged young innovators to leverage government schemes, incubation facilities, and mentorship opportunities to become successful entrepreneurs and job creators. During the industry interaction, Bharath Manoharan, founder, Digi Plus Technology, focused on the importance of innovation, customer-centric solutions, and adaptability in building a successful technology enterprise. M. Joseph Salethraj, incubation manager, delivered a presentation on the Pre-Incubation Centre. Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with partner organisations during the programme. The official website of the centre was also launched at the event. C. Rajasekaran, secretary, Indra Ganesan Institutions, spoke.

Environment Day

The Research and PG Department of Botany at Holy Cross College marked World Environment Day with a host of activities recently. Held in collaboration with Treechy Lover and International Legal Rights and Human Justice Council, the day’s programmes were conducted by the department’s Exnora Club. Nearly 400 cloth bags were distributed to the students, and 600 seed balls of native tree species processed with Panchakavya were handed over to the Exnora members of the department to be sown in rural areas. Treechy Lovers founder C.Balasubramanian, spoke.

MoU signed

The PG and Research Department of English, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GTT Foundation, Pune recently, to launch a collaborative partnership aimed at fostering institutional cooperation between the two organisations. Principal M.V. Alli, and Kanchanaa Sivaprakasam, deputy general manager – South Division and Subha, project Lead, GTT Foundation Pune, were present at the signing ceremony.

Internship programme

A five-day artificial intelligence (AI) internship programme for over 300 second-year undergraduate students of A.D.M. College for Women, Nagapattinam focused on using technology to aid the development of soft skills, aptitude and communication. The programme was held in association with the Magic Bus India Foundation, Coimbatore and included sessions on topics such as English phonetics, grammar and transcription by trainers from the organisation.
