The implementation of the ‘Sanjeevani’ digital healthcare initiative and the ‘Pillale Sampada’ programme in Chittoor district received special appreciation during the seventh Collectors’ Conference held by the State government in Amaravati on Thursday (May 7, 2026).
Presenting a report before Health Secretary Saurabh Gaur, Chittoor Collector Sumit Kumar explained how the district—particularly the Kuppam constituency—was emerging as a model for technology-driven healthcare delivery in rural areas. He noted that the Tata Digital Nerve Centre (DiNC), launched under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, was successfully implementing a digital healthcare model that connects villagers with specialist doctors through video consultations.
Mr. Sumit Kumar said trained nurses and local health coordinators were assisting patients during teleconsultations and ensuring healthcare access to remote villages. He added that pregnant women were also being provided with online yoga sessions and counselling support through the digital platform.
Responding to concerns raised during the review on declining fertility rates, rising caesarean deliveries and early pregnancies, Sumit Kumar said Chittoor district administration would take focused measures to address the issues through awareness campaigns, improved maternal healthcare services, and strengthened community-level monitoring under the “Pillale Sampada” and “Sanjeevani” programmes.
