P. Saminathan, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Coimbatore Range, on Saturday (June 13, 2026) inspected field operation of Singappen Special Force (SSF) in Coimbatore district.

According to the Coimbatore District Police, Mr. Saminathan made a surprise inspection when an SSF team was engaged in surveillance and awareness activities near Madukkarai. He observed their field activities in crowded public places, bus stands, educational institutions and commercial complexes.

The DIG reiterated key objectives of the force – ensuring safety of women and children and preventing crimes against them. He provided guidance to the SSF personnel for effectively raising safety awareness among women and children. He also instructed the policewomen how to engage with the public to provide safety-related advice.

The district police stated that the SSF team conducted awareness activities at several educational institutions since its launch.
