Two alumni of the Forest College and Research Institute-Mettupalayam have cleared the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
According to a release, P. Kaviya from Coimbatore district of the 2018–2022 batch secured All India Rank 64, while K. Kalaipriyan from Kallipatti village in Dharmapuri district of the 2014–2018 batch secured All India Rank 71.
The release stated that the Forest College and Research Institute-Mettupalayam has produced 120 Indian Forest Service officers since its establishment in 1985.
The candidates attributed their success to the forestry curriculum, guidance from faculty members and support from senior alumni of the institution, the release added.
Principal of the institute Dr. A. Balasubramaniam felicitated the two alumni during an alumni meet held on May 9.
