Abishek Gupta, a 2019 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer assumed office as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Thoothukudi district, on Friday.
Following the transfer of former Thoothukudi SP C.Madhan as SP-I, security branch CID, Chennai, Mr. Gupta has been posted here. Prior to this, he had served as SP of Pudukottai district and Deputy Commissioner of Police of Tiruppur North range.
After assuming charge, Mr. Gupta held a meeting with district police officials to assess the prevailing situation in Thoothukudi district.
