A woman and her paramour were arrested on Tuesday (May 12, 2026) for murdering her husband and father-in-law in Krishnagiri.
On Monday (May 11, 2026), charred remains of two men were found in Veppalampatti and at Kodugur in Krishnagiri Taluk police limits. The police sent the bodies for post-mortem and inquired. The deceased was identified as as C. Mahesh Kumar (43), a resident of Bellarampalli and a serving Naik in the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir and his father T. Chellappan (62).
Investigation revealed that the army officer came to his house three days ago on leave. He learned that his wife, Banupriya (30), developed a relationship with G. Poovarasan (20), a resident of Melkottai and warned his wife to snap the relationship. Meanwhile, on Sunday night (May 10, 2026), Poovarasan, along with Banupriya, allegedly killed Mahesh Kumar and Chellappan and burnt the bodies separately.
Based on the investigations, the police arrested Poovarasan and Banupriya on Tuesday and are investigating further.
