APJAC Amaravati seeks immediate appointment 12th PRC Chai...
2026-05-20 · via The Hindu: Latest News today from India and the World, Breaking news, Top Headlines and Trending News Videos.

The APJAC Amaravati State Committee members have urged the government to appoint the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Commissioner and announce Interim Relief (IR) for employees, stating that the delay has caused growing dissatisfaction among government staff.

APJAC Amaravati State chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, secretary general P. Damodara Rao, associate chairman T.V. Phani Perraju and AP Revenue Services Association State general secretary Ramishetty Venkata Rajesh met senior officials In the Chief Minister’s Office on Wednesday and submitted a representation seeking immediate action on several employee-related issues.

The committee demanded implementation of a five-day work week for employees in all government departments, similar to the system currently followed in the State Secretariat and Heads of Departments (HoDs) offices after bifurcation.

They said rising diesel prices, increasing transportation expenses, pollution concerns, and financial burden on employees made the proposal necessary. They argued that a five-day work week would improve employee productivity, reduce stress, provide more family time and help the government save fuel, electricity, and other operational costs.

The APJAC members also requested the government to facilitate special concessions for government employees to purchase electric vehicles by coordinating with EV manufacturing companies. They further sought tax benefits, subsidies and incentives to make electric vehicles affordable for employees.

Taking exception to the inordinate delay in implementing the 12th PRC, which was due from July 1, 2023, the JAC leaders pointed out that even the appointment of a PRC Commissioner had not been completed. They said that governments traditionally announce Interim Relief whenever PRC implementation was delayed and demanded that the IR be declared without further postponement.

The APJAC Amaravati leaders announced that their State Executive Committee would meet on June 7, 2026 to discuss future course of action in view of mounting pressure from employees for resolution of the several pressing issues.
