Over 25 people sustained injuries in two separate accidents in the district on Saturday (May 2, 2026).

According to the police, a group of people from Dharmapuri district visited a temple in Theni district and were heading back to Dharmapuri in a tourist van. As they reached Pachal on the Namakkal-Salem National Highway in the wee hours of Saturday, another van rammed the tourist van. In the accident, 15 persons sustained injuries and were admitted to the Rasipuram Government Hospital.
