When Biju Prabhakar, a former bureaucrat with extensive administrative experience across various government departments, chooses to go public with his revelations on the corruption and underhand deals that happen in the corridors of power, that too when the State is in a politically charged mood, one would definitely be tempted to question his motives. Mr. Prabhakar answers it simply, “Because we, as a literate, progressive society, deserve better governance.”
He was addressing the audience in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday at the release of his book, Naam Namme Kollayadikkumbol, which he claims is an account of the corruption and institutional failure he had to wade through and “occasionally be a silent witness” to in his long years as a civil servant.
