P. Akash, IAS, assumed office as the new District Collector of Sivaganga district on Monday.

Prior to this appointment, his administrative career includes serving as the Additional Collector of Dharmapuri district, and as Sub-Collector for the Dindigul division (Dindigul district) and the Cheranmahadevi division (Tirunelveli district).

He has also served as a Zonal Assistant Commissioner in the Greater Chennai Corporation and as the Executive Director of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) - North.

Further, Mr. Akash had held key leadership positions as the District Collector of Tenkasi and Nagapattinam districts, Joint Secretary of the Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department, and Executive Director of the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT).

Most recently, Mr. Akash was briefly transferred to Madurai from Nagapattinam district before taking up his current posting in Sivaganga.
