The National Lok Adalat, held at the district headquarters and taluk courts, led to resolution of 4,782 cases involving settlement of ₹41.11 crore in Coimbatore.
Cases pertaining to check bounce, accidents, civil matters, partition, rent payment, labour dispute, bank loan, education loan, family issues and pre-litigation cases were heard in 20 sittings at the district headquarters and seven sittings in taluk courts.
Highlights of the sittings, conducted by the District Legal Services Authority and chaired by Principal and District Sessions Judge G. Vijaya, were the payment of a compensation of ₹90 lakh each for families of two accident victims, reunion of six couples fighting divorce cases and finding solutions for 58 cases pending in the courts for five years
In the Motor Vehicles Original Petition (MVOP) of an accident along Pothanur-Chettipalayam Road registered in 2024, the family of the deceased two-wheeler rider, Mitrakant, was given a cheque for ₹90 lakh. Another cheque for the same amount was given to the family of Maniraj, who had died in a four-wheeler accident along Anaikatti-Coimbatore Road in 2025.
