Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU) will commence online registration for admission to undergraduate courses for the academic year 2026-27 from May 15, Vice-Chancellor N. Felix has announced.
According to a release, the university offers eight undergraduate programmes — comprising five professional and three para-professional courses — through 10 constituent colleges and one affiliated private college functioning under the university.
A total of 416 seats is available in constituent colleges and 60 seats in the affiliated private college for the current academic year. Reservations have been provided under various categories, including ICAR quota, sports quota, children of ex-servicemen, transgender persons, persons with disabilities, government school students under the 7.5% reservation, and vocational stream students.
Separate allocations have also been made for candidates from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, foreign nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Kashmiri migrants, and Sri Lankan Tamil refugees. The university said that students admitted under the fishermen community quota would have their tuition fees borne by the Tamil Nadu Fishermen Welfare Board.
Applications and the prospectus can be downloaded from TNJFU admissions portal from May 15. The last date for submission of online applications is 5 p.m. on June 14. The application fee is ₹250 for SC, SCA and ST candidates and ₹500 for all other categories.
The rank list will be prepared based on Higher Secondary Examination cut-off marks. Counselling for general admissions will be conducted online, while counselling for special category applicants will be held in person on dates to be announced later, the release added.
