Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) cadres across the southern district celebrated the swearing-in ceremony of TVK president C. Joseph Vijay, held on Sunday with enthusiasm and festive spirit.

Since the announcement of election results, the TVK cadres had been eagerly waiting to celebrate their leader assuming office as the Chief Minister. At many places banners were installed, wishing the chief minister.

In Nagercoil, a large number of cadre gathered near the statue of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj in Veepamoodu and paid floral tributes.

Across the Kanniyakumari district, TVK cadres bursted crackers and distributed sweets to the public. Similar celebrations were also held in Karungal, Marthandam,Anjugramam,where supporters raised slogans praising the party.

At Therespuram in Thoothukudi, both TVK and Congress party cadres jointly celebrated the occasion of TVK leader Mr.Vijay assuming office as chief minister. The party members bursted crackers and distributed sweets to the public.

Similar celebrations were also held at Kovilpatti and surrounding places.

In Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts, TVK cadre organised gathering and celebrated the ceremony by bursting crackers at several locations including Thisayanvilai, Valliyoor, Tirunelveli, Kadayanallur, Surandai, Tenkasi and Achakoil.
