In view of the orange alert for very heavy rainfall issued for Nagapattinam district, the district administration has activated emergency response measures to tackle rain-related incidents, including cyclones, floods, thunder and lightning.
Collector P. Akash said the emergency control room functioning at the Nagapattinam Collectorate has been operating around the clock with officials deployed in shifts to respond to emergencies and public grievances related to natural disasters.
The public have been asked to contact the district emergency control room through the phone number 04365-1077, toll-free number 1800-233-4233, or WhatsApp number 8110005558 for assistance and to report emergencies, the Collector said.
