An awareness programme conducted by Sri Venkateswara Agricultural College here on Thursday stressed the need to eradicate the spread of Congress grass, also known as parthenium, from the vicinity of residences.
The programme was organised by the college’s National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at Durgasamudram village in Tirupati Rural mandal. Scientists at the event explained that the rapid spread of Congress grass in the surroundings could cause serious harm to the environment, livestock and also human health.
