Home Minister G. Parameshwara said he has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) of Karnataka to submit a detailed report on allegations of harassment made by an inspector of Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE), and a separate letter written by a Superintendent of Police against the Mangaluru City Police Commissioner.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on April 21, Dr. Parameshwara said he had taken note of media reports regarding the issue. The DCRE Inspector, identified as Srinivas, has levelled serious allegations while SP Kashinath has written to the DGP highlighting his concerns.

“I have sought a report on both matters. Further action will be taken based on the findings, and the truth that emerges,” he said.
On reports of Muslim leaders writing to the party high command, the minister said the issue would be examined. “The Congress party has always given priority to minority communities. There is also a tradition of giving tickets to family members of deceased leaders. It should not be misinterpreted. The party leadership, including the president and the Chief Minister, will address the issue,” he said.
