Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav on Saturday launched the government’s Operation Clean Sweep programme at the Potukunta Siva Temple premises in Dharmavaram and participated in sanitation works.
Accompanied by NDA cadres, Mr. Satyakumar Yadav joined the clean-up drive by clearing shrubs and weeds from the temple compound and interacted with municipal workers and local residents. He said the NDA government was giving priority to the monthly Swachh Andhra–Swarna Andhra campaign to build a cleaner State through public participation.
Referring to the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Minister said cleanliness was next to godliness and cautioned that indiscriminate dumping of waste into drains could lead to urban flooding during the monsoon. He said Operation Clean Sweep would continue across urban local bodies till June 20, with a focus on red and yellow spots, drainage cleaning, and sanitation in residential and commercial areas.
The Minister appreciated officials and municipal sanitation workers for their efforts and stressed the need for collective responsibility and public awareness to transform Dharmavaram into a model clean town.
