Tiruppur district witnessed TVK candidates winning in four out of eight constituencies.
The party emerged victorious in Avinashi, Tiruppur North, Tiruppur South and Palladam Assembly segments. DMK candidates won in Udumalpet and Madathukulam constituencies while the AIADMK candidates polled highest votes in Kangayam and Dharapuram constituencies.
Notably, TVK candidate in Avinashi (SC) S.Kamali triumphed over BJP candidate and Uniion Minister L.Murugan by polling 84,209 votes against 68,836 voted garnered by the latter. DMK candidate came third with 65,530 votes. V.Menaka of TVK was placed at a distant fourth with 7,704 votes.
