One of Chennai Metro Rail’s train doors didn’t open for a brief period on Saturday afternoon.
At 2.59 p.m., a train arrived at Tiruvottiyur Theradi Metro Rail station, but the train doors didn’t open for nearly ten minutes due to a technical glitch, according to a press release. “Station staff immediately assisted the Train Operator and attended to the issue, following which the train doors were opened,” the release said.
Soon after that, normal train operation commenced and the train left the station. The incident didn’t result in any further impact or delays in the services for the rest of the day.
“Passengers did not face any discomfort during the incident, as adequate air-conditioning was maintained inside the train throughout. CMRL regrets the inconvenience caused,” the release said.
