A pregnant woman traveller delivered a baby on board Train No. 16586 Murudeshwar-SMVT Bengaluru Express when the train arrived at Bantwal Railway Station in Dakshina Kannada on Sunday.
A South Western Railway release said when the train arrived at the station at 7.22 p.m. the woman travelling in a general coach was found to be in distress and experiencing heavy bleeding. Railway staff immediately alerted medical emergency services and arranged for an ambulance.
