The Fort police on Wednesday arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a youth with a beer bottle.
The accused has been identified as Sreedharan of Muttathara. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on May 4.
According to the police, the altercation took place began after the complainant questioned the accused for allegedly using abusive language. This led to a confrontation during which the accused reportedly struck the youth on the head with a beer bottle and caused considerable injuries.
The accused was remanded to judicial custody after being produced at a local court.
