Extensive arrangements are being made in Thiruvananthapuram district for the smooth conduct of the first phase of Census 2027, which will kick off with a self-enumeration phase on Tuesday (June 16, 2026).

Respondents can visit https://se.census.gov.in for self-enumeration from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, the Thiruvananthapuram district administration said on Sunday.

In phase I, Houselisting and Housing Census, information regarding the condition of houses, amenities and assets of households will be collected. Population Enumeration, which constitutes phase II of the Census 2027 exercise, will be held in February 2027.

For phase I, Thiruvananthapuram district has been divided into 5,608 house-listing blocks (HLB). In all, 7,105 officials are being deployed in the district for census duties. Under phase I, the self-enumeration phase will last from June 16 to June 30.

The field visits by the enumerators will be carried out from July 1 to July 30. For conducting the house-to-house visits to compile the data, 5,527 enumerators will be deployed. In Thiruvananthapuram, Census officials are keeping 553 enumerators and 93 supervisors in the reserve list to handle contingencies.

The training sessions for enumerators and their supervisors will be completed by June 23 in the district. Four master trainers have been assigned to the district. The training sessions for field trainers, who will, in turn, coach the enumerators and supervisors, have been completed.
