The Coaching Couple Turning Kerala’s Entrepreneurs Into Crore-Makers
2026-06-26 · via The Hindu: Latest News today from India and the World, Breaking news, Top Headlines and Trending News Videos.

Through a community of 6,000 members, business coaches Dr. Vibin Raj & Shalu P Ram have built a movement that claims ₹120 crore in economic impact — and is reshaping how Malayali entrepreneurs think about scale

Recently at a five-star hotel in Kerala, 420 business owners sat through a programme that involved walking on glass, singing on stage, and being coached through fear using neuro-linguistic programming. By the end of it, four of them had been recognised as having crossed the one-crore revenue mark.

This was the Dream Life Manifestation Retreat – Magnetic Power, organised by Dr. Vibin Raj & Shalu P Ram, mind and business coaches behind the Dreamlife Manifestation Hub — one of Kerala’s more notable entrepreneur communities in recent years — whose methods occupy an increasingly prominent space in the state’s growing appetite for structured business mentorship.

The event was not a one-off. It was the latest milestone in a body of work that Shalu P Ram and Dr. Vibin Raj’s team says has produced 36 entrepreneurs who have crossed the one-crore annual revenue mark, seven who have crossed ten crore, and a total estimated economic contribution of ₹120 crore to the Kerala economy. Over five lakh students have been through their programmes. Their premium membership community, the Dreamlife Manifestation Hub, stands at 6,000.

A Different Kind of Business Education

Dr. Vibin Raj’s approach sits at an unconventional intersection: part business strategy, part behavioural psychology, part lived community experience. He is a singer, musician, and certified hypnotherapist, nlp master practitioner — and that artistic sensibility is not incidental to his coaching; it is central to it. Shalu P Ram brings her own distinct lens to the partnership, focusing on self-worth, emotional architecture, and the inner work that sustainable business growth demands. Together, their retreats blend manifestation frameworks, music healing, sales psychology, and NLP-based techniques — tools that, while outside the mainstream of business education, have found a sizeable and loyal audience in Kerala’s entrepreneurial class.

The Magnetic Power retreat drew its 420 attendees from Kerala’s Malayalam-speaking business community — a deliberate focus. Dr. Vibin & Shalu’s programmes are designed not merely to teach business mechanics, but to address the specific psychological and cultural barriers that, they argue, hold Malayali entrepreneurs back from scale: risk aversion, social comparison, and an ambivalence about visible wealth.

Tickets, notably, were sold out ahead of the event.

The Human Architecture of the Retreat

The Dreamlife Manifestation Hub that Dr Vibin and Shalu lead is, in a meaningful sense, a family enterprise. The seeds were first sown by Dr. Vibin Raj’s father, B T Babu Raj, who founded JJ Institute in 2008 with a vision of cultivating a generation of confident, self-reliant Malayali entrepreneurs. Shalu P Ram and Dr. Vibin Raj are now advancing that vision — combining digital-age reach with a foundational emphasis on self-worth and family values.

That lineage shaped the Magnetic Power retreat in tangible ways. B T Babu Raj joined as a guest speaker, and at the launch of Dr. Vibin Raj the Band — through which Dr. Vibin Raj performs as lead vocalist, guitarist, and pianist — father and son performed together on stage. The moment was widely noted by attendees as among the most affecting of the retreat. For a coach who has long argued that real success is wholeness, stepping onto a stage as a musician before a room of 420 entrepreneurs was, for Dr. Vibin Raj, exactly that.

Shalu P Ram conducted a one-hour session focused on self-worth — the argument being that sustainable business growth requires the entrepreneur to stop locating their failures in personal inadequacy and instead develop a foundational sense of self-regard. In the post-event survey, her session ranked highest among all sessions at the retreat — above every business framework, every strategy module, every expert presentation.

A video message was received from Siddharth Rajsekar, a prominent figure in India’s digital entrepreneurship coaching space — reflecting the national attention the Kerala-based community has begun to attract.

Reach Beyond the Room

Dr. Vibin Raj also hosts a podcast aimed at Malayali entrepreneurs — a growing format in the regional language space that has helped him build reach beyond physical events.

Scale in Context

Kerala’s entrepreneurial landscape has historically been shaped by migration, remittance economies, and the dominance of trading communities. The emergence of coaching ecosystems — designed specifically to help first- and second-generation entrepreneurs scale domestic businesses — represents a structural shift in how ambition is being channelled within the state.

Dr. Vibin and Shalu’s community is one of the more visible examples of this shift. Whether the crore-champion numbers represent a replicable model or the outcomes of a particularly motivated self-selected group is a question worth asking — but the fact that 420 business owners paid, travelled, and filled a five-star venue on a weekday suggests the demand is real.

The ₹120 crore figure — representing the collective revenue growth attributed to their community — is a claim that warrants independent verification, but the trajectory of the community, and the visibility of its members, offers corroborating context.

What the Numbers Say About Kerala

Each entrepreneur in Dr. Vibin Raj and Shalu P Ram’s community, which crosses a crore in revenue, is, in practical terms, a business that employs people, pays taxes, and invests locally. Multiplied across 36 such entrepreneurs — with seven having crossed ten crore — the aggregate effect on local economic activity is not trivial.

For a state that has long exported talent rather than capital, the question of whether Kerala can build a self-sustaining entrepreneurial middle class is not merely economic. It is generational. The work of Shalu P Ram and Dr. Vibin Raj — one a coach who builds entrepreneurs from the inside out, the other a musician and singer who believes that wholeness and business success are inseparable — is one of the more organised attempts to answer that question in the affirmative.

Dr. Vibin Raj & Shalu P Ram are Kochi-based business coaches and co-founders of the Dreamlife Manifestation Hub, one of Kerala’s largest premium entrepreneur communities. Dr. Vibin Raj is also a singer and musician. Their Dream Life Manifestation Retreat – Magnetic Power was held at a five-star venue with 420 participants.
