Six persons, including two ganja peddlers, were arrested by the Kukatpally police during a raid conducted in the Sumitra Nagar Colony on Friday evening. Officials seized 2.2 kilograms of dry ganja from their possession.
The accused were identified as Mohammed Sameer, a bakery worker, and Illuri Deepak, a mechanic, who police described as peddlers. The four consumers were identified as Agraharapu Gopi, Nanu Vishnu Vijayeeth, Macha Yogesh, and Madduri Shiva Kumar.
Police said the raid was carried out at around 7.10 p.m. following a tip-off about illegal sale and consumption of ganja in the locality. On interrogation, police found that two of the accused were involved in procuring and selling ganja, while the remaining four were consuming the narcotic substance at the location. All six accused were later produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
