Cadres of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) distributed sweets and coconut saplings to devotees, tourists and members of the public at the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health in Velankanni on Sunday to celebrate actor turned politician C. Joseph Vijay assuming office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
TVK cadres across the State marked the occasion by bursting crackers and distributing sweets to the public following the swearing-in ceremony.
As part of the celebrations in Nagapattinam district, members of the Velankanni town unit of the party organised the distribution programme in front of the world-renowned Velankanni Basilica.
Party functionaries and volunteers participated in the event. Those present included town secretary K.P.S. Premkumar, town women’s wing secretary Josephine Prabhu amongst other functionaries.
