Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Friday (May 15, 2026) launched a series of road development works in Srisailam Assembly constituency. He said that the coalition government was giving top priority to improving infrastructure in the Rayalaseema region.
The Minister inaugurated the newly completed 3-km NDB link road connecting Mahanandi with the Ongole-Nandyal highway, which was built at a cost of ₹7.90 crore. He also launched the 2.5-km Velugodu-Gargeyapuram road, taken up with an outlay of ₹4.5 crore.
Speaking at the event, Janardhan Reddy said several roads in the State had fallen into poor condition during the previous YSR Congress Party government. He said that the coalition government was now working to rebuild infrastructure across the region. He said the government was spending nearly ₹3,000 crore on road works and was also planning bridge projects worth another ₹2,000 crore. He assured that a bridge over the Paleru stream near Srisailam would be sanctioned soon.
Accusing the previous government of neglecting Rayalaseema, the Minister said that industries, irrigation projects, and highways had come to the region mainly during the TDP rule and urged people to back the coalition in the coming local body elections.
